by Don Bacue Wouldn't it be great if you could get a bunch of people to read and rate your book...and then talk about it to hundreds or even thousands of other book lovers? Here's one way you can do just that. Library Thing, http://www.librarything.com, is a place where users share the books and book lists they love best. The site boasts more users than Shelfari, a similar site, and has more flexible features. They even offer galley copies of books to users who want to write a review for the site. Their Library Thing Local lists bookstores, libraries, and book festivals and include author appearances, events, and signings at the various venues. Authors and publishers are invited to add event listings to the site. You can also encourage your fans to join and write about you and your book. How's that for building free word-of-mouth traffic for your book? Just remember me in your will. |
