Film/TV
06-10-04 Ah-Hah! I am an
independent filmmaker in need of some good material. I am looking for
both a short and a feature length screenplay at the moment. I am not
specific about a genre, but perhaps twists and turns and an "ah-ha" ending.
Right now I am thinking either horror or romantic comedy, but I am open.
Bottom line: I need two smart scripts. These need to be
festival-worthy and brilliant enough to be used as "business cards" to the
studios. A producer for a hit TV show is also a friend and will be
mentoring the projects. These will be shot on a lower budget, so
nothing too high-concept. Keep in mind that the feature will be shot
on digital (24p) and the short will be on 35mm (5-10min). Only send
your logline and a ONE PAGE synopsis via email to:
melissa@searingfilms.com.
I will get back to you if interested.
06-10-04 Intriguing Now
accepting submissions for new funding plan to produce excellent screenplay
into feature film. Screenplay MUST have Tri-state area locations, have
excellent audience entertainment factor, be original, and be copyrighted.
Prefer black comedy, romantic comedy, thriller, or intriguing drama.
Other genres (sci-fi, horror, etc.) will be considered, but we are not
looking to produce a high visual-effects film right now. Please
include a synopsis or treatment to
screenplayer@hotmail.com.

06-10-04 Joint Venture My
name is Robert Cochran and I am a film director based in the mid-west.
I am currently looking for writers who have unpublished or self-published
novels or short stories who would like to see their work adapted to the
screen. What I will do is take your manuscript and adapt it into a
screenplay. After the script is written you will have the opportunity
to review the script and suggest changes. I will work with you to
assure that the spirit of your story stays intact in the adaptation.
Once the script is finalized I will pitch and sell the script to a
production company, and we will split the income from the script 50-50.
You will have to grant me the film rights to your story, but you will retain
all other rights. This means you can still pursue publication of your
novel or short story, you just won’t be able to sell it to anyone else to
adapt into a film.
I am looking for the best of the unnoticed novels and short stories, so if
you are interested here is what you do. First, make sure that your
script is copyrighted. You must have proof of copyright, and you must
have your story in a manuscript form. I will not consider ideas only.
Next, email me at bob@claireandbob.com with a synopsis of your story in the
body of the email (no attachments please) and your contact information.
I will review your synopsis and contact you to let you know if I am
interested in your material or not.

06-10-04 China Doll My
name is Edward Shei, and I'm the editor in chief of Oriental Express,
an English language section inside a Chinese language daily newspaper based
in Shanghai, China - Oriental Morning Post. Currently, we are
the largest circulating English language media in Shanghai with over 150,000
copies distributed across the Greater Shanghai area every Friday, in
Oriental Morning Post's weekend edition. We are looking for
European foreign correspondents to work with us on a freelance basis, and
file lifestyle articles once a month, or if the writer travels around
Europe, we would love even more articles provided they are from different
countries. With Chinese strict emigration policies, it's difficult for
most Chinese to get an active idea of what life outside of China is like and
get a good look at what is new, interesting and happening across the world!
This is what we'd love to introduce to our readers. Payment is made
through www.paypal.com, and is based
upon word count - Chinese Yuan / word, or about US$0.25 per word, paid
before the 15th of the month after the article is published! I realize
that it isn't that much, but the purchase of rights are very liberal, and
geared toward the writer who would like to sell his articles to multiple
outlets! Travel stories from around the world are also welcome.
They are paid 1.5 Chinese Yuan per word, or about US$0.19 per word.
I'm looking for a long-term relationship with multiple writers. If
this sounds interesting to you, I would love to talk to you about it more.
Please send a resume, two sample articles, and pitches, and let's work from
there! Oriental Morning Post, Edward Shei, 8621-6247-1234 x68028, Fax:
