As you may already know, AmSAW initiated a new program several months ago called "Writer for Hire."  It  was designed to provide a two-pronged approach to helping writers find work.  One is through its proactive listing and promotion of writers who send in their listing information via the Enrollment Form.  The other is through a hand-culled listing of the best truly freelance writing jobs around, available to Professional Members only through daily listings in SCRIBE! Professional Media Magazine.

 

Since I signed on to the program, I've had half a dozen different job offers

cross my desk, and I even took one of them.  It's providing information about a  professional chef for his restaurant's new Website.

 

I point this out for a couple of reasons.  If you're a professional member of AmSAW and haven't yet checked out Writer for Hire, you should do so, even if you're not actively looking for work.  You never know when you will be, and you should understand that we're here to help connect you to the people seeking to hire professional writers just like you.

 

Even more importantly, by signing up for "Writer for Hire," you'll be putting your name out in front of major businesses, Web content producers, publishers, editors, educators, and others.  In short, AmSAW will actively promote you and your work, whether or not you're actively seeking additional income from new freelance assignments.

 

Besides, you might actually find a job you'd just love to tackle, as I did.  Not only am I helping a chef establish himself in his chosen professional, but also he's given me an idea for a new novel that just might be a blockbuster hit some day.

 

So keep "Writer for Hire" in mind.  And, if you're not yet a professional member, you can join for 16-6-60--that's 16 cents a day, six dollars a month, or sixty dollars a year.  That includes access to SCRIBE!
