The
engrossing tale of an ancient race of intelligent dinosaurs, wiped out by
an asteroid 65 million years ago; or were they...?
Blurb/Logline:
Deep
under the ice of Antarctica lies a city, lost for millions of years, and now
discovered by a research team. It clearly can't be of human design.
Who built it? Where were they from, and where did they go?
Sapiosaurus takes the reader on a journey of discovery and wonder as an
ancient civilization is revealed.
Synopsis:
Sapiosaurus
is a speculative-fiction novel that begins with the discovery of what initially
is thought to be an alien city buried under the ice of Antarctica. As
a team of scientists begins to explore, they realize that it is actually the
ruins of a civilization of intelligent dinosaurs that evolved over the last
10 million years of the dinosaurs' time on Earth. Furthermore, they
discover that the "Sapiosaurs," as they dub them, knew of their impending
doom, and took steps to preserve their species. Despite intrigue and
sabotage, the team succeeds in bringing two of the ancient race back to life.
Bio:
Lon
McQuillin is a television producer, director, and editor with more than 25
years' experience. He is the author of The Video Production Guide,
which went through five printings, and Computers in Video Production,
which was obsolete before it reached the bookshelves. Sapiosaurus
is his first novel.
Film:
Coming
from a background as a television producer/director, I envisioned Sapiosaurus
as a movie and wrote the "novelization" of that movie. It would make
a terrific film, especially given the current capabilities of CGI in making
dino beasties look completely real. What differentiates it from other
dinosaur fiction is that its premise is completely plausible; in fact, it's
almost surprising that it isn't true.
Additional:
An active
imagination and a whole lot of reading.
