Synopsis:
Chris Parker was blind-sided by multiple sclerosis in middle age. The
incurable disease took more than just his mobility; it cost him his wife,
his house, his career. He’s a throwback to simpler times, a curmudgeon, a
recluse, and his life is now focused exclusively on writing – articles,
novels and screenplays. One film script catches the attention of a
big-time agent, who sends his assistant, Cathy Lewis, to the RV campground
where Chris lives to get him under contract.
Chris and Cathy click. From the beginning, there’s mutual and growing
attraction. The publicity machine, however, is not following suit. The
media at first hops onto the diamond-in-the-rough bandwagon and then, when
the script is high-jacked off an Internet site and forwarded in an
ever-growing tidal wave, the cyber critics pick apart the script and its
author.
After a dinner date that ends with Cathy spending the evening at Chris’
RV, a romantic tryst that prompts Chris to take one of his little blue
pills, an early-morning commotion awakens him. It’s an ambush interview by
a television crew. The intrusion, the confrontation, and the probing
questions are stressful. A dangerous combination of his MS, the blue pill
and the stress causes Chris to suffer sudden vision loss – permanent
blindness – as it has in others with his condition.
In an emotional demonstration of her love – “This is where happiness
starts. Let’s not waste any more time” – Cathy asks Chris to move in with
her. He does, and he continues to write. Their love story is next.
